Mercia Marina launches £10,000 annual sculpture competition

Five shortlisted applicants will be competing for a prize of £10,000 which will be paid to the winning artist – one of the most valuable sculpture prizes available. Submissions for the Mercia Marina Sculpture Prize can be created with any material suitable for year-round outdoor display, though we will particularly favour works that use sustainable materials.

The competition will see the winning sculpture(s) being purchased or auctioned along with them receiving a substantial prize. We are looking for exciting ideas to complement of the many sculptures inhabiting the park. Please see the many different examples of sculpture that we have at Mercia by artists such as Simon Gudgeon, Alistair Farson,Ted Edley and Beatrice Hoffman.

All entries will be displayed at the marina between September 10 and 11th, where a judging panel, including Mark Richards, a fellow of the London-based Royal Society of Sculptors, will choose an outright winner.
