Mercia Marina kicked off the festive season with a Christmas Market Weekend (November 29th & 30th), complete with Santa’s grotto and a Christmas lights switch-on.
The Christmas Market featured dozens of festive stalls and attractions, Christmas carols, competitions, mince pies, mulled wine and Santa's grotto on the trip boat.
It's been the first major event at the marina since thousands of visitors attended The Boardwalk’s hugely successful Grand Opening Weekend in October.
Derbyshire’s Air Ambulance, the marina’s nominated charity, we're raffling hampers and other gifts donated by retailers and friends of the marina. The marina’s very first floating retailer, The Ideal Hamper Company, which has recently moved into one of the six available commercial moorings on site, has donated a magnificent Christmas hamper as one of the raffle prizes.
The weekend came to a close and gentle wind down with Christmas Carols on the bandstand.
