It is hard to believe that this impressive new addition to South Derbyshire's business, retail and shopping offering, was only started in mid-March this year! 5 months on and we see the architecture carving a shape on the familiar horizon of Mercia Marina, in-keeping with surrounding buildings and the natural designs of its immediate environment. The timbers now hug the steel frame work and a great deal of the stone work is also done. The floor levels all tell different stories, (or should that be storeys), when it comes to vast views and outlooks over the marina lake. Even now you can imagine looking out of your office window and seeing the beautiful boats pass by below rather than the traffic boom. You could be at a seaside town, or better yet Venice. There is an air of excitement as more and more life is breathed into the building and so bringing the elaborate design alive.

The Piazza building is on schedule for completion by December and then it will be over to the business tenants and retailers to fit out their unit space and prepare for an opening estimated for Spring 2018 (a date for the diary).
